Perch of Light

A dragonfly balanced on the tip of a bare branch, silhouetted against a shimmering water background. The surface behind it sparkled with circular highlights—bokeh so perfect it looked like the lake had borrowed a disco ball. The insect held its pose like a shadow puppet mid-performance, wings outstretched, antennae tuned to some secret frequency.

I spotted it just as the light turned theatrical, casting the whole scene in soft brilliance. The dragonfly didn’t twitch, didn’t flinch just perched like it was guarding something sacred. I framed the shot and clicked, half expecting it to vanish in a puff of myth. If you squint, the branch even curves like a wand, and the dragonfly? Definitely the wizard.
