On the Prowl

I have captured many Great Egrets, but this one caught my eye. When I was doing processing on my images from that day I noticed the green band from his eye to his bill. I have not seen that before. In addition yesterday I was looking at Flickr images and I saw someone else had an Great Egret with the same green band... If anyone has additional information I would love to know it.
