The Sage of Shadowdale
River Bend
This was a handheld, 3-exposure HDR done in Photoshop (Photomatix tone-mapping looked aweful with this one for some reason). Unfortunately, without a tripod, the images didn't line up perfectly, which makes a couple things (such as the horizon line) a little dodgey (don't look too closely).
After the 32-bit HDR I separated the sky from the ground, cloned the dodgey bits on the horizon a little, applied some levels (darkening the blackpoint to bring out the colours a little) to the sky, highlight/shadows to the ground (to bring out the shadow detail a little), sharpened the whole image a tad and threw a frame around it.
Nikon D50 + Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G (kit lens)
RAW
18mm
1/25sec @ f/3.5 (+/- 2EV)
No tripod details: lying on a rocky outcropping with my elbows set in an a-frame.
