To achieve this I stuffed fine-grade steel wool (fine produces better sparks than coarse) into the world's cheapest (metal) egg whisk. Then i tied a string to it, set fire to it and span it around really, really fast.
Suffice to say goggles and a reasonably fireproof coat were worn, but y'know, feel free to try this at home. Outside your home, that is.
It is also worth noting that despite these safety precautions, I still got quite a few burns. So, be careful.
