Silhouette de nuit
Leica m9
summicron 50mm, f2
i've been having quite some challenges trying to find a way to have my m9 shots look good. don't get me wrong, they look awesome straight out of camera, but i have been having difficulties "owning" my shots, or let's say "possess" them in a way i would be pleased with.
i guess i just don't feel like over processing my m9 shots. they look so amazing, to the point i can't have my regular x1 process applied to them effectively. in other words, back to the old drawing board.
After 4 failed attempts at processing this shot the right way and two hours of hesitations, i went back to the original raw file. and kept the color tones very strictly similar to the original shot. switched the WB to fluorescent light, had a small pass of very subtle dodge and burn layers, and voila.
i am convinced getting an m9 will represent some exciting challenges. first of, as some of you may know, i'm a photoshop guy, but i think i will have to download lightroom and give it another try this time. we'll see what it gives.
oh, and i actually bought another lens for the collection. Since i was not having any 35 equivalent yet for the M mount, i ordered a Voigtlander 35mm 1.2. i know it is not Leica glass, forgive the blasphemy, but i really needed a super fast low light option that would not have costed me an arm. the summilux will have to wait. besides, that voigtlander seems to give stellar shots and extrelemy decent bokeh.
