Grand Villa Hotel Pool
Despite the slow slow slow slow service, cloudy water this hotel pool is great. A chance to read a book or nothing, for just a while. Particularly when I live in a tiny apartment with no A/C next to the airport, with the Illushin's taking off over my head at 3am. This is the Friday retreat from the heat for many folks, foreign and local alike. Khartoum was (and isn't) a perpetual pool party though. Really.
