MPRVP heads west behind a pair of big SD9043MACs. UP recently retired the remaining units of the fleet, marking the end of a failure filled era.
These units began suffering from cracked frames around 2013, which resulted in the entire fleet being stored. In 2014 quite a few had their cracked frames repaired, and at the same time, received wings on the nose. Despite the repairs, all were placed back into storage by the end of 2015. A few were reactivated in mid-2018, until they were stored for good a few months later. It's a shame that these units were despised by crews and plagued with issues, as they looked pretty cool.
