Courtship
Seems like the guy and the girl on the left are in their courtship period. In India, it used to be very common, and it still is to some extent, that when a girl goes out with her prospective fiance, one of the girl's friends or sisters comes along with her.
That said, I have to admit that the place where the guy has brought the girls was so peaceful and romantic, that he stands a good chance of succeeding in winning the girl's heart. :-)
