It was time...
... It was time to leave her, time to leave things to fate, time to offer the endless pain one last moment, time to give a name to the sweet and bitter desperation and time to inhale the irresistible scent of true love ones more ...
Pain, despair and unending silence filled the moment. Grief and the desire that this moment forever would be, the wish that he not have to leave palpable in every breath they took as they stand close. That moment eternity created a promise. A promise that knew no space and no more time.
"Don't lose your light my little treasure, do you promise me that?" he said quietly to her while his heart was pounding hard against his chest and while he struggled for restraint. "Do you promise it? he asks again as he holds her tight, feeling her little body shivering in pain and sadness. "Trust in what fate holds for us, trust in tomorrow my beautiful.
"We will not lose light neither hope because no darkness will ever be able to cover the love we have and what is one life compared to eternity my dear!?" he adds as he lifts her chin to place a tender kiss on her forehead. "My love for you will last forever, so don't be sad anymore."
And with a warm and gentle smile he softly kissed her lips, wiped the tears from her cheek and directed his gaze down to her, "So will you trust, my darling?"
With tears and a pain in her gaze she looked up at him, sobbed and with a soft nod she answered: "I will trust, and I will shine for you my Lord, my beloved" and again her voice failed and broke under the burden of sorrow.
"I will write to you every day little darling and you and your sister will be well looked after. My brother will take care of all matters, so that you will not have to miss anything", he added while he kissed her lip gently one last time. Then he said goodbye with a friendly nod from everyone around and stepped out the door into the open where the carriage was already waiting ...
One last time he turned to her with a smile and tears in his eyes as he reached for a letter in his pocket. "For you my little darling", he said while he placed a last soft kiss on her hair. Then he handed the coachman his last suitcases and got in.
All that remained at the end were the tracks and the ever-quiet roar of the horses as he moved further and further away and nothing was as before...
.
- There is this pain of love that you experience in some unique and rare moments. That feeling when your whole being threatens to break, when this bittersweet pain spreads from your heart throughout the body and the composition of existence changed and become a part of your soul...
And the most inexplicable about is that you like this feeling of pain. -
