Customs & Immigration, Boquillas
Rather than entering Mexico through a secured area, this trailer, which is just off the main road in Boquillas (close to a mile from the border), is where you report. If you feel like it, apparently. I had to mention it to my "guide", the fellow who drove me from the Rio Grande to town.
However, as opposed to immigration on the US side, which is handled by phone, there's a real, live person here. If he shows up for work, anyway. On this day, I was told that the internet was down, so the agent didn't come to work. Not sure what that has to do with looking at my passport and the other official things the customs people do, but that's what I was told. I guess Mexico's not quite as worried about who's coming in as we are on the other side.
