On The Edge...

There is nothing that I fear more than perching myself off a cliff edge looking directly beneath only to find a vast expanse of Ocean waters waiting to kindle even the tiniest minutea of my unfounded fear of exposure (of the other kind that is)...

I had tried to combat it quite a bit but then there is something within me that makes me feel jittery and completely neurotic when it comes to such places. So I do not usually make the most of the scene, the settings or for that matter I do not spend a lot of time in such places either...

Invariably, I would see a few guys who would sit about an inch off the edge and go about their business as is their wont...I would marvel their spirit and quietly envy their bravado and hope that someday I would be the one sitting there...well there is always hope no?

The Neist point lighthouse is one of the most photographed locations in Skye. Anyone visiting Skye would and should definitely make this as one of their stops. It is a viewpoint on the most westerly point of Skye. Neist Point Lighthouse has been located there since 1909.

Basalt at Neist Point is very similar to that at the Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland. A steep path leads down from the road.Whales, dolphins, porpoises and basking shark can be seen from the point.

Duirnish has one of Britain's most dramatic sections of coastline, from thousand foot high cliffs to beautiful coral sand beaches and the Neist point sure is one of the most stunning locations I have ever been to...
