Granny has a very positive attitude
Granny is positive the new project at work will prove to be her death knell. But not right away. First she will suffer – really suffer. There will be impossible deadlines, public speaking anxiety, test defects galore, surprise requirements, promised functionality that never quite appears, and outlandish expectations for automagical solutions. Granny will be expected to herd the scowling and yowling cats comprised of exhausted system users and testers, balky system architects, deaf programmers, ephemeral temporary help, and demanding managers. And, somehow, once again, in six months the project will be completed, memories of the pain will fade, and it will be back to “what have you done for me lately?” Then, Granny thinks, she will be at her end. Well . . . maybe one more project. THEN the end.
