Forbes Island
Forbes Island is actually a kind of barge. It was built in Sausalito in 1975 by Millionaire Houseboat Designer, Forbes Thor Kiddoo as a private floating home. It is now a "floating island" restaurant at Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco. The thing measures 50 by 100 feet, weighs 700 tons, and has its own palm trees, waterfall, fake fireplace, 55-step lighthouse with Fresnel lens, and Tahitian dining room. The dining room is underwater and is decorated to resemble the interior of sailing ship from the early 19th century. Sounds like fun!
