Austin Historical Museum

The drive across the southern part of Nevada on US 50 is humorously dubbed “The Loneliest Highway in America” and the residents of the small towns along the way (and there are not many of them) make the most of that. It is a wonderful trip with lots of interesting things to stop and see if you happen to be a curious type of person with a camera. ;-)

This scene is from the Austin Historical Museum, which I enjoyed very much. Austin, Nevada was a frontier mining town, as well as ranching country, and in many ways it gives the appearance that almost nothing has changed for 120 years. The displays in the small museum depict everyday life in those earlier times.
