Street scene in downtown Kyoto

Shops lined both sides of this narrow street. The white rectangles on the ground form the pedestrian crossing. While I was one side of the side of the crossing, I kept hearing birds chirping, but saw none. After a bit, it dawned on me that that was the signal to cross the street! Kyoto, Japan.
