Green Iguana, Under the Canopy, Royal Botanical Garden, RBG, Hamilton, ON
Excerpt from the plaque:
Green Iguana: Green iguanas are excellent climbers and also love to swim, dropping into the water to escape predators in the wild. Though they may be cute as babies, they get quite large, can be difficult to handle, and can be a lot of work to take care of. As a result, most people are not able to properly care for them and they often get abandoned, or, if lucky, donated to a zoo like Little Ray’s.
