Altes Gebäu, Chur, Switzerland
Excerpt from chur.graubuenden.ch:
The baroque city palace, built between 1727 and 1729, fascinates above all as a result of its concept as an overall work of art; politician Peter von Salis-Soglio extended his residence by adding a huge garden, the presentday Fontana Park. The interior of the building reveals great attention to detail; one room is entirely decorated in a Chinese style, while another boasts a ceiling with inlaid mountain crystals. Elaborate paintings can also be found adorning the walls.
The Graubündner Kantonalbank has restored the old building with lavish detailed work. Since April 2012, the building has one again been in the possession of the cantonal court and not accessible to the public.
