The scientific project I’m working on has the main objective to produce an atlas of the development of the mouse brain. To do so, mice embryos were injected with two different molecules (CFSE and BrdU), which allow the labeling of cells that are undergoing cell divisions, at the moment of the injection. Therefore, upon microinjection, the labeled cells will migrate and reach their final location.
These injections allow us to obtain wonderful images, after processing the brains.
This image shows us only cells that were labeled with CFSE. We can easily observe adult neurons with their wonderful processes, showing us how complex is the brain.
I consider that humans as well as all the other species are very unique. And somehow, we tend to forget how wonderful we are.
These images represent what I think about the brain: a wonderful complex structure that makes us who we are. And this beauty was simply enhanced with this rainbow of colors.
For the people who might see my work, I hope it will represent to you, what it means to me.
And remember: there’s a universe inside each one of us. ¦ Image#1_180
