Andrei Lia (Glauser Lab, Department of Biology, University of Fribourg) is working on C.elegans behavior following noxious stimuli and quantify the impact of genetic manipulations on it. He engineered this new device for concomitant multi-color light stimulation (controlled optogenetic stimulation of specific neurons) and behavior quantification on worm populations. "Bright" is used obviously with double meaning of "talented" because this LED apparatus is hand made and set up by this researcher and also the meaning of "the light". The wires you see on the bottom of the picture show the hand made aspect of science and his complexity. The researcher make it, built it, but he is enlightening by the result. The researcher is highly focus on the set-up of the apparatus and you can see the light in his eyes.
