Number Eight Medina Spirit leads at Kentucky Derby

This is my 2021 photo of the Kentucky Derby from the backside looking across the Churchill Downs' infield towards the clubhouse and twin spires area.

 

Medina Spirit would later be disqualified from the Kentucky Derby race for being drugged. Seven months later the young colt (only 3 years old) would suddenly die during a workout at Santa Anita race track.
