" (c. 1925-30) The Valley Diner in Toms Brook (Shenandoah County) has been remodeled considerably since it was first opened on Route 11, the old Valley Turnpike, the primary north-south route through the Shenandoah Valley. The wood-frame building still shows its barrel-vault roof, but the exterior walls have been stuccoed and the glass block counter and knotty pine paneling were added in 1940s and 1950s updates. The Valley Diner was known in the1930's as Bud & Yanks."
