Cosmo & His Marmoset - a M.A.S.A. document
A pictorial document (Aethergraph) from Brighton, UK. circa 1865
This image appears to be another view of Rachel S. Darwins own study (requires corroboration) & is an interesting insight into her interests & associations,
The book is thought to be a gift from Commodore Cosmo -
who was a close friend of Rachel's & a distant cousin to Queen Victoria.
An explorer, entrepreneur & avid amateur anthropologist but was
considered an adventurer & reprobate in high society (after having occasionally "Gone Native" after his travels)
He was regarded as a "Bad Egg" & a "Royal Black Sheep" & thus fell from favor in the Royal Court
