Sutton's decline. Ford Thames Plaxton BFG 437B ,Chelmsford 1978

In the early 1960s, Sutton's Coaches of Clacton on Sea would have consisted of newly bought heavyweight coaches ,bursting to the seams on their express service from London to Jaywick Sands. In the latter days a motley collection of second and third hand lightweights were the mainstay of the fleet. BFG437B is a Ford Thames 570E with Plaxton bodywork ,new to the well-known Dunfermline operator Rennie, and was seen in Chelmsford in 1978. The missing front wheel disc is another symptom of the decline.
