OK, I'm a total sheep for doing this "face your manga" thing today, but whatever.
I decided to give her white hair because... (big sigh)... that's my real hair color. Early gray runs in my family. My father was salt and pepper by the time he was 20. I got my first gray hair at 12. At this point, my hair colorists tell me I'm 80-90% gray (more in some places, less in others), but that I'm very lucky because it's coming in a nice, bright white color, and it'll look really fierce when I finally decide to quit hiding it.
I'm going to turn 40 next month, and I've begun thinking more and more about when I'm going to pull that trigger. When I was 30, it was easy to say, "Well, I'm too young to be gray, so I can justify dropping a load of cash on color every four weeks." Now, peering over the edge of 40, that's getting harder to say with a straight face.
I'm glad I made this little manga image with her white hair. I think she does look fierce, and I plan on keeping her around just to remind me that someday I can be a fierce, white-haired woman.
PS
Just for kicks, I did my husband, too.
