This is the gorilla family (late silverback: N'Kosi) currently living at the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro (NC), United States.
Color Key - Black: males, red: females, grey: non-residents (with their current location) or deceased.
Arrows - Pointing from parents to their offspring.
Please note: N'Kosi had another offspring with Jamani, a stillborn male (d. 30-Jun-2011). — N'Kosi had two more offspring with Nia (* 1993) at the Columbus Zoo: an aborted female (d. 21-Apr-2003) and Dotty (b. 17-Apr-2004, Columbus). — N'Kosi arrived at the N.C. Zoo from the Columbus Zoo in March 2008, Jamani from the San Diego Zoo in January 2010. — The zoo's first baby gorilla, Kwanza, was born in March 1989. He was transferred in 1998 to Chicago's Lincoln Park Zoo.
