Gorilla: Oliver
This is silverback Oliver currently living at the Columbus Zoo in Powell (OH), United States.
Oliver was born in 1988 at the Bronx Zoo (NY) to Tunuka and Barney, hence his full name Oliver T. Barney. He was hand-raised and transfered to Memphis (TN) at the age of 6. In 2003 he returned to the Bronx Zoo, in 2006 he was brought to Gorilla Haven (GA), a private facility where he was taken care of by Jane T. Rasmussen-Dewar and Steuart Dewar.
Since 2009 Oliver, who is deaf, lives at the Columbus Zoo (OH). In his group are currently two females. In May 2013 one of them, Kambera Dupe, gave birth to his first child Kamoli - a combination of his parents’ names.
The chart features his parents, his only son so far, and his many half-siblings.

Please note: Not in the chart is his half-sister Tabitha (1980 - 2007), a daughter of Barney and Josephine (b. 1971 wild, Toronto). Tabitha has two surviving offspring, a male called Mbundi (b. 1993, Kansas City) and another male called Zwalani (b. 2000, Granby). – Kongo is also the father of Pattycake.
