Gorilla Family - Columbus
These are the gorillas currently living at the Columbus Zoo in Powell (OH), United States.
The zoo houses three groups, indicated by different colours. Colo used to live on her own.
Color Key - Blue: breeding males, red: females, black: other males, grey: non-residents (with their respective locations) or deceased. Arrows - Pointing from parents to their offspring (broken arrows - foster care).
Please note: This is just a rough overview of all gorillas at the zoo and some of their family relations. See the charts for the respective groups for details (linked below). — As of February 2015, Toni has adopted two foster childs, Kamoli and Kamina. — Kambera Dupe appears twice in the chart. — In December 2016, at the age of 60, Colo was the oldest living gorilla in captivity. She was also the first gorilla born in captivity worldwide. ― Kebi Moyo's father is Sunshine. He fathered two more children with Lulu, named Lusi (1987 - 1995) and Binti Jua (*1988, Chicago), who has two surviving offspring: Koola (*1995, Chicago) and Bakari (*2005, St. Louis). ― Mo'Ana's mother is Kali (1994-2007), Nia's mother is Fredrika (*1974, Miami). Both females were born at Oklahoma City. ― Oliver arrived from Gorilla Haven, Georgia in 2009. He was born in 1988 at the Bronx Zoo to Tunuka and Barney, hence his full name Oliver T. Barney. Oliver is deaf, but "very smart and [he] quickly learned our routine", says his keeper at Columbus Zoo.
