The Young Stethoscopist

By Henry I. Bowditch, M.D.

Second Edition, 1848

Can you hear the sounds of my heart?

It has been absent for some time now.

Do you think I am in articulo mortis?

I played regina really loud on iTune to drown out the silence of my heart.

The beat from the subwoofer vibrated through the cut on my finger.

Maybe it will restart my heart in time and give me some rhythm, 1-2-3!

Oh, I always knew you can catch your sweat with your eyelashes.

Just one more song please then I will go and sleep soon.

I will dream of orca whales and owls.

I don't want to wake up.

The stars in the sky are just too beautiful.

The soft wind in my face comforts me.

I don't want to wake up.
