LZ Tank Blueprint
The LUX-ZEPLIN (LZ) dark matter detector will sit at the heart of a 72,000 gallon water tank, shown in this blueprint. The detector is located 4,850 feet below the ground at the Sanford Underground Research Facility in Lead, South Dakota. The same tank was also used for the preceding LUX experiment, which ran from 2013 to 2016.
