VdB 152

Given the non astro friendly weather which has been most of 2012, a sensible person would pick something bright and an object not requiring multiple hours of hit and miss imaging to work on.

Not being in the least bit sensible I've chosen VdB 152 a devilishly faint reflection nebula located not far from IC 1369 (The Elephants Trunk) in the constellation of Cepheus.

This is the result of almost 6 hours of luminance frames and the body of the nebula is only just starting to appear from the background. This is right at the limit of my sky quality, and maybe needs the same exposure time again to really bring out the dust from the noise.
