Swiss Dolomites

Last week, I joined Benjamin Barakat on his Alps tour - or perhaps it’s more accurate to say the tour joined me. I wasn’t too excited about the original location they had in mind, so I managed to convince the group to change plans at the last minute.

After a moderately demanding hike, we ended up spending an unforgettable night in one of Switzerland’s lesser-known regions. Hopefully Sadeq Hayati, Jeremy Singer and the rest of the group didn’t mind me disrupting their itinerary.

From a peak in the Gastlosen range, sometimes called the Swiss Dolomites, we were treated to this breathtaking view. As night fell, the Milky Way’s core and the colorful Rho Ophiuchi cloud complex aligned perfectly with the jagged peaks - a composition I had envisioned for years and am thrilled to have finally captured.
