Orion on the Rise
After the recent comet-chasing, I enjoyed returning to my normal, a bit more relaxed form of astrophotography. Last week, I was able to greet Orion rising over the tufa towers of Trona Pinnacles.
It is always a joy to capture the red nebulae of the Winter Milky Way, even if the harbinger of cold conditions. Trona Pinnacles' dark skies in the eastern direction allowed me to capture some faint structures, like the Witchhead Nebula, part of Eridanus Loop, or the neblusity around the Pleiades at the very top if the uncropped image, while blazingly bright Jupiter lingered at the extreme left edge of the frame.
