Through the Storm

Night flights can be very long and tiresome. While the passengers and part of the crew are asleep, the pilots have to stay alert. One of the threats that need to be avoided are thunderstorms. At night, they are only visible on the weather radar and sometimes by intermittent lightning.

These storms over India were hard to miss though. Their strong lightning activity looked like constant fireworks that strongly contrasted the tranquility of the starry sky above the atmospheric turmoil.

Our aircraft faithfully navigated through the stormy skies, while the Milky Way core slowly rose higher, giving promise of calmer conditions ahead.
