Bridging the Galaxy

I captured this image during my 2019 trip to Italy. It shows the bridge leading to a medieval fortress in the Abruzzo region.

I like this composition, as it shows the fortress from an angle I have not seen before, at least not in a nightscape.

The illumination of the fortress was very bright and required extreme exposure bracketing. The alignment of the Milky Way was perfect, but the strong light pollution from the floodlights, in connection to the less than perfect skies of the region, made capturing the sky a real challenge.
