Blue Hotel
All good things come in threes. So here is my third twighlight image, before I will probably finish my "blue phase"...
It reminds me of the famous song by Chris Isaak:
Blue hotel
On a lonely highway
Blue hotel
Life don't work out my way
Blue hotel
On a lonely highway
Blue hotel
Life don't work out my way
I wait alone each lonely night
Blue hotel
Blue hotel
Blue hotel
Every room is lonely
Blue hotel
I was waiting only
The night is like her lonely dream
Blue hotel…
The abandoned Hotel Belvédère near the Furkapass is one of the "must shoot" places for most night photographers in Switzerland and has therefore already been shot to death long time ago. I have successfully avoided it so far, but as the planned shooting location proved to be a bust, I reluctantly decided to finally capture my version of it.
While taking some foreground shots during blue hour, a post bus passed and painted these interesting light trails. As I liked the trails quite a bit, I set up my tracker during nautical twilight and captured a matching blue Milky Way.
Although I was not very keen on shooting this location, it is nevertheless nice to capture a well known landmark with a personal touch.
