Serenity [Explored]
While the Milky Way core season is drawing to ist end here in Switzerland, I put up my tent in this beautiful spot in my beloved Alpstein mountains.
I captured this image about 30 minutes before the beginning the astronomical night. The weak, blueish light from the fading day helped to illuminate the landscape and made the contrasts between the bright lights and the landscape less harsh.
The sky was not as clear as predicted. A strong haze along the horizon blocked most of the Milky Way core. Higher in the sky, rather dense cirrus clouds were reflecting the light pollution of the Rhine valley far below and a gusty wind shook my camera and made my tent flutter. Not the perfect conditions I had hoped for, but it was nevertheless a beautiful night.
