Northbound

Is it possible to see North America from South America?

Sure... If you look into the northern sky, you may be able to see the constellation Cygnus with the famous North America Nebula (NGC 7000).

I captured this image while flying northbound over Brazil towards the South Atlantic. Apart from the North America Nebula, it shows the Sadr Region (IC 1318) and the Elephant Trunk Nebula (IC 1396) with the extremely red Garnet Star is visible just abobe the light dome of the Natal region. Some red airglow is providing additional color to the lower parts of the sky.
