Smoky Mount St. Helens
I scouted the area near Johnston Ridge Observatory in the afternoon. At Loowit Viewpoint, I found this dead tree, that was toppled during the 1980 eruption. I immediately decided to come back to this spot for my Milky Way shooting, as it provided the perfect foreground.
Unfortunately the conditions were very hazy due to lots of smoke from the wildfires in Oregon. While shooting I had doubts if I would be able to record anything usable and I had a hard time processing this image, but I still like the result.
