Tschuggen Observatory
Early spring is a great time for astro photography. In the evening, Orion is riding high in the sky and shortly before dawn, the Milky Way core is visible again after its winter break.
Of course this means that the night for an astro photographer is very short. I was snowshoeing 40 minutes up a steep hill to shoot this Orion panorama in -20°C (-5°F). I was back in my cozy bed at midnight and was hating myself when the alarm clock rang at 3:30 a.m. and I hiked up the same hill again to shoot the rising MW core.
