Alien Bonus
During my visit in New Mexicos Bisti Badlands, I captured nightscapes at various spots. Shortly before moonrise, I packed my stuff and started to hike back to my car. I did not think I had time for another composition, but when I passed the "cracked eggs", I could not resist to try capturing the Milky Way over this alien looking rocks.
The young moon was just minutes before rising and was already coloring the sky in blueish tones. There was not enough time to set up my tracking mount and I to revert to untracked exposures.
The foreground needed focus stacking, but after a long night, the time pressure made me sloppy and the result is not as sharp as I hoped it to be, but I nevertheless like how this unplanned bonus shot turned out.
