Tranqulity Reigns
I love these peaceful moments, when the quietness of the night replaces the hustle of a busy day. No lights are disturbing the slowly turning starry skies high above.
Just me and my camera drifting along with the universe. The clicking of the shutter acting as a reminder of the slowly progressing time...
This image is the final one of my Aescher series. I reprocessed the sky of my previously published image flic.kr/p/M1ri8n and merged it with the foreground I photographed during moonrise about an hour after shooting the sky.
The comparison of the two images is a good example what Low Level Landscape Lighting (LLLL) tries to achieve: Stationary LED panels are used to lighten the foreground in a similar way as a rising moon would illuminate the scene.
Of course this is not always an easy task. While the moon in this image provides a very even illumination, the other image has some deep shadows at the base of the house, as I had to position my lights on a trail passing below.
The resulting moods are quite different. While the perfect illumination of the house and the mountains in this image gives it an air of tranquility, the other image is very spooky...
I am still not sure which one I like more.
- Canon EOS 7D mk2
- Samyang 24mm f/1.4
- Sky: 5 x 5 images of 10s @ ISO 3200 stacked with fitswork
- Foreground: 5 x 3 images of 60s @ ISO 800 stacked with PS
- Panorama stitched with PtGui
Thanks for all your comments and faves. They are highly appreciated.
