Into the Storm
This very active thunderstorm was imaged over southern France, while crusing at 37'000 ft.
The lights on the ground are curved, because the image was taken while the aircraft was turning. I like the effect of them seemingly leading the observer into the thunderstorm. Of course we did not actually enter the storm - otherwise you would have heared about it on CNN...
Due to the turning motion, The stars in the original image were blurred into long lines. To get pinpoint stars, I had to blend in the sky of a frame I shot immediately after the turn was finished.
