Path of Mercury

Yesterday (9th May 2016) Mercury, the innermost planet of our solar system, passed in front of the Sun as seen from earth.

 

This image shows the path of Mercury across the disk of the Sun from ingress almost to egress in roughly 30 min steps.

 

North is up.
