New Beginnings [explored]
Some of you may have noticed that I've been more or less absent from Flickr for well over a year. Life has a way of catching us off-guard and sending us spinning sometimes. Many changes in my life over the past 12 months, some good and some not, left me with not a lot of spare time for editing or posting photos, let alone thinking of witty and delightful things to say. It's a lot of pressure (just kidding!!). I can't say exactly what caused my creative block, but I've been shooting again, processing again, and starting to warm to the task of reconnecting with many old Flickr friends, and hopefully making some new! I hope to get to visit a few of the brilliant photos that I've missed over the next few weeks.
This shot actually dates back to about one week before the pandemic officially wrecked our lives back in 2020. A more recent trip to Mesquite Dunes in Death Valley National Park reminded me that I had this one still waiting to be processed. I don't do a lot of black and white, but the light and shadow interplay across the sweeping dunes emphasized the shapes and symmetries better in B+W, so I ran with it! I really struggled with which photo to post first after being away so long, but it doesn't matter in the end, there will be more!
May 2022 be filled with dazzling photo opportunities and joyous times for all. Peace.
