Fatty Acid Amide Hydrolase is the enzyme responsible for the degradation of Anandamide. Anandamide is the body’s “natural marijuana”. Studies on mice have conclusively identified this chemical’s role in the susceptibility of drug abuse.

 

 

Mice missing the FAAH enzyme showed a much higher dependency on cannabinoid receptor stimuli.

When they performed these tests on humans, the results were the same.
