Hiding Out
37513 071103 Old Oak Common
37513 was one of the Class 37/5 sub-class which were rebuilt in the late eighties from standard Class 37 machines.
The rebuild was to extend their lives by providing an alternator in place of the generator and re-geared CP7 bogies for a better traction package.
It is arguable that this made any difference as many standard machines have lasted just as long.
37513 was one of a handful of 37's which were converted to apply sandite throughout the system and ended it's days stored at Old Oak Common before being sold about a month after this shot was taken and carted off for disposal. 3rd November 2007
