Sweet Music
37515 940723 Wakefield Kirkgate
37515 was one of the Class 37/5 sub-class which were rebuilt in the late eighties from standard Class 37 machines.
The rebuild was to extend their lives by providing an alternator in place of the generator and re-geared CP7 bogies for a better traction package.
It is arguable that this made any difference as many standard machines have lasted just as long.
37515 was a rare passenger machine and was fixed for Hertfordshire's "The Roxby Music", on 23rd July 1994 (along with 56102 out of sight) and is seen at the back end of the tour as it leaves Wakefield Kirkgate after a brief stop were we alighted to head back home.
