Scarborough Bridge is the railway crossing over the river Ouse at York. It was built in 1845. Originally if pedestrians wished to use the bridge they had to walk between the two tracks, I can’t imagine that being allowed these days!

In 1875 major work was undertaken in preparation for the opening in 1877 of the current York station. The bridge was raised by four feet and a pedestrian bridge provided alongside the railway bridge.

On 10th February 2019 the pedestrian bridge was removed in preparation for a new and much wider bridge being installed during March.

68031 crossing Scarborough Bridge with 0B60 0900 York to Scarborough TransPennine Express driver training run of 16th February 2019.
