Voilà l'explication du phénomène comme observé :
Entre les collines en premier plan et les Alpes en arrière plan se trouve le lac Léman au dessus duquel plane silencieusement de la brume illuminée par le soleil couchant.
Et cela n'a pas échappé à Deep Purple lors de leur visite au Montreux Jazz Festival.
For those who always wanted to know where the french term "il y n'a pas le feu au lac" (the lake isn't on fire) originates from.
From the Lake Geneva region, of course ;-)
Here the explanation of the phenomenon as observed:
Between the hills in the foreground and the Alps in the background is Lake Geneva above which silently hovers a layer of mist which is illuminated by the setting sun.
And Deep Purple was aware of this phenomenon when they came down to the Montreux Jazz Festival.
