Amethyst crystal dug 11-20-2011
1 1/8" tall x 3/4" wide. sharp crystal with very light amethyst and smoky coloration. The amethyst from Jackson's crossroads is very pleochroic which means that the color and color intensity varies depending on the angle of view. Naturally, I photographed this at the most colorfull angles. This is very pale amethyst. Photos very highly enlarged. Dug 11-20-2011 and hurriedly washed with soap & water on Nov.21. Has some clay still on it as well as some light iron staining. Dixie Euhedrals mine #4 jacksons crossroads.
